Theo Walcott praises Olivier Giroud for his recent performances – football news

Theo Walcott praised Frenchman, Olivier Giroud, after he fired a goal and set up the second one in the 2-2 draw on 30^th January against Liverpool.

Walcott, who fired the equaliser against reds after receiving the ball from the French striker, praised him for his recent performances.

The former La Liga top scorer rifled four goals last week. After snatching a goal back from Liverpool, Giroud marked his 14^th goal of the season.

“It was a fantastic touch for [my goal] and his goal was what he is known for,” Walcott was quoted in an interview to Arsenal Player. “He has been on fire in recent weeks and he is great to play with. His touch [for the equaliser] was fantastic and allowed me to hit it first time – I think I caught the keeper by surprise. It was a great moment but it’s just a shame we didn’t get the win.”

The England international stated that Gunners second half performance was spectacular. Despite conceding a goal in the second half against Reds, Arsenal managed to level the terms. He stated further:
“Before the game I felt it was going to be very open. Liverpool played well in patches but in the second half we were absolutely fantastic. “

Arsenal will face off Stoke City at the Emirates Stadium and Walcott believes that if Arsenal play with same spirit as they show in the second half, they will be able to outgun their rivals:
