The application downloads on Google Play doubled in the last quarter compared to the previous year while the App Store grew 20%, according to data from App Annie, which analyzes the activity of 1.2 million applications.

Despite the increase in downloads for the Android system, it remains undisputed leadership in favor of the Apple store, both in quantity and revenue. In the same period, Apple earned three times more revenue Google Play, the report
said.

While most of the clientele of iOS is in Anglo-Saxon countries, in the case of Google Play this comes from Japan and South Korea. Even so, China can be a decisive player in this market, since six months ago to be the ninth country
by downloading applications on the App Store in December rose to sixth place.

76% of Google’s revenue comes from the United States through the game downloads and micro economy, in the case of Japan the figure is 86% and in South Korea is already 95% of the total.
