Amanda Weir and Nathan Adrian earn gold medals – Arena Grand Prix

Amanda Weir and Nathan Adrian earned gold medals of the 50m freestyle in Women and Men’s corner respectively at the 2013 Arena Grand Prix.

Weir remained in a lead of two arm strokes over her toughest competitor and surfaced on the wall for first position with an effort of 25.53 seconds.

The champion was chased by Victoria Poon, who stayed 0.31 seconds slower and stepped on the finishing wall for silver medal by producing an effort of 25.84 seconds.

The silver medallist was trailed by Simone Manuel, who stayed 0.01 seconds slower from her preceding swimmer and completed the podium by winning bronze medal with an effort of 25.85 seconds.

Manuel was followed by Isabella Arcila, who remained 0.27 seconds slower and settled on the finishing end for fourth position by clocking a time of 26.12 seconds.

Fifth best spot of the race was obtained by Nathalie Lindborg, who stayed only an inch behind and hit the wall with an effort of 26.26 seconds.

On the other hand, Adrian occupied the title of 50m even in Men’s corner. Adrian remained a notable lead over his opponents and sprinted his way towards the finishing end for gold medal by reporting an effort of 21.70 seconds.

Adrian was chased by Anthony Ervin and Jimmy Feigen, who stayed  0.73 seconds away from their former finisher and climbed the podium for silver medals by clocking a time of 22.43 seconds.

They were followed by Garrett Weber-Gale, who remained 0.52 seconds slower and surfaced on the wall for fourth position by posting an effort of 22.95 seconds.

Fifth spot of the race was gained by Matt Grevers, who experienced a deficit of 0.03 seconds from his foregoing finisher and hit the wall with an effort of 22.98 seconds.

Sixth position of the race was secured by Geoffrey Cheah, who remained 0.11 seconds away from his former finisher and clocked a time of 23.09 seconds.

Furthermore, the arena appreciated commendable efforts of all swimmers while the winners received accolades after the event.
