Chong Wei Feng tames Marcel Reuter in Men’s Singles second round of Swiss Open 2013

Malaysia’s spirited shuttler Chong Wei Feng continued his winning run and reached in Men’s Singles round-of-16 after winning his second round battle against Germany’s Marcel Reuter at Swiss Open 2013 on Wednesday, March 13, in Switzerland.

The ninth seeded Wei Feng, who has been showing up remarkable performance in the last six months, played with complete control in his shots against Reuter and remained successful in winning this battle in just 31 minutes.

Malaysian man was in superb form in the arena as he played with remarkable precision and managed to wind up this second round clash in straight games with a completely commanding 21-14 and 21-17 score on the board.

Reuters, on the contrary, tried to put in extra effort to stop the progress of his Malaysian rival but failed to play dominating badminton at any stage. He lost the match in straight sets without posing even a meager threat to his challenger.

The unmatched speed and powerful strokes of Wei Feng helped him to take charge of the pace from the starting points of opening game. The tempo of the rallies was very fast in opening game and Wei Feng impressed local fans with his lofty craft.

Malaysian shuttler was composed and positive on court in the ending points of second set and bagged the second set with a sound margin of 21-17.
