Biao Chai and Wei Hong wrap up Men’s Doubles title at Swiss Open 2013

China’s Men’s Doubles players Biao Chai and Wei Hong stayed on track and they wrapped up Men’s Doubles title after stunning Korea’s Ko Sung Hyun and Lee Yong Dai in the final fight of the Swiss Open 2012 in Switzerland, on Sunday, March 17.

The sixth seeded Biao and Hong, who remained in smashing form all the way towards the final of the battle, continued their staggering run and they overpowered the top seeded Korean challengers while consuming 59 minutes in the arena.

Chinese shuttlers started their run in smashing way but could not win the second game. However, they played with greater level of precision in the final set and easily bagged the final game to end up this title match in rubber games with a margin of 21-14, 18-21 and 21-14.

On the other hand, the top seeded Sung Hyun and Yong Dae tried their level best to dominate the pace of rallies and they also took the second game but failed to maintain their rhythm and lost the match in three sets.

In the opening set, the in-form Biao and Hong managed to stay in commanding position from the starting points and remained ahead on the board until the break.

After the one-minute interval, Biao and Hong continued their positive performance in the arena showing no mercy to their challengers at any stage and managed to win the set with a 21-14 score on the board.

In the following set, Sung Hyun and Yong Dae also lifted up their level of play and remained successful breaking the flow of their challengers in the opening half.

After the break, Biao and Hong tried to play positive badminton but they committed a few errors at the crucial stage and lost the set with a reasonable 18-21 deficit on the board.

In the decider, the Chinese duo played with impressive speed at net and also dictated the pace from the back of the court. They set up a wonderful lead until the end of opening part.

After the interval, Biao and Hong continued putting up strong show all the way and they easily won the final set with a smashing 21-14 score on the board and emerged as the title winners.
