24 fake degree holders summoned by election commission

The Election Commission of Pakistan has summoned 24 fake degree holders to present for hearing in Islamabad on Friday.

 

These include Shafiq Ahmed Gujar‚ Rubina Irfan‚ Tariq Magsi‚ Israrullah Zehri‚ Mir Nadir Magsi‚ Umar Gorgej‚ Mir Mohabbat Khan Marri and Shumaila Rana.

 

Meanwhile, the Election Commission of Pakistan has so far received 16688 nomination papers for the May 11 national and provincial assemblies’ elections.

 

It has so for completed scrutiny of 10748 nomination papers.

 

The Election Commission will complete the scrutiny on the April 7 and appeals could be filed by April 10 against decisions of the Returning Officers.

 

The Election Tribunals will decide the appeals by April 17 while the candidates will be allowed to withdraw their nominations by April 18.

 

Final list of contesting candidates will be published on 19th of this month and polling will be held on May 11.

 

Sources say that the returning officers had received over 16,000 nomination papers for the national and provincial assemblies.

 

The officers continued scrutiny of the papers on the third day on Wednesday.
