Huan Gao demolishes Luke Chong in Men’s Singles second round of Australian Badminton Open 2013

China’s upcoming player Huan Gao continued his winning run in Men’s Singles second round when he easily showed exit to his local opponent Luke Chong in Yonex Australian Badminton Open 2013 on Wednesday, April 3, in Australia.

The in-form Huan Gao, who is the second seeded player in Men’s Singles main draw, played with staggering precision and managed to overpower his challenger in a completely commanding manner by taking just 30 minutes of the court time.

Huan remained on the driving seat in this second round contest and he did not let his rival to dominate the pace of rallies at any stage. He continued his smooth sailing all the way and ended up the match in straight sets with a commanding 21-8 and 21-10 score on the board.

The un-seeded Luke, on the contrary, tried his best to play attacking badminton but he could not find gaps in his challenger’s court. He failed to create pressure on his Chinese opponent and lost the match without winning any set.

Huan performed remarkably well from the initial points of first set as he played with wonderful speed and grabbed the control.

Chinese shuttler was quite comfortable in getting the bird timely and he did not encounter any complication in executing his strokes in targeted areas.

The higher ranked Huan easily dictated the terms in the arena as he remained on the driving seat all the way and he easily took a wonderful lead until the break.

After the one-minute interval, Huan stayed focused in the arena and remained successful in keeping a sound lead.

The positive and aggressive play of Huan helped him to claim the opening game with a reasonable margin of 21-8.

Luke worked hard to play tricky badminton in first half of second game but he failed to create pressure on his rival.

The hard to return smashes and net killings kept Huan ahead of his rival all the way until the end of first half in second game.

The planned and positive play in the ending part of second set assisted Huan to wrap up the set with a reasonable 21-10 margin on the board.
