Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) and Balochistan National Party (BNP-Mengal) Wednesday agreed to make seat adjustment in Balochistan for the May 11 elections.

PML-N leader and former Punjab chief minister Shahbaz Sharif met BNP chief Sardar Akhtar Mengal and agreed to form committees for seat adjustment.

Both told a joint presser that the seat adjustment will be a move of saving Balochistan.

Shahbaz called upon all people in the province to participate in the elections to resolve Balochistan problems.

Akhtar Mengal said they discussed current political situation and matters relating to forthcoming elections.

Shahbaz Sharif said that it is imperative to address the grievances of the people of the Balochistan province.

He welcomed the decision of the political parties of the province for participation in the general elections hoping that it will lead to progress of the province.

He stressed the need for removing genuine grievances of the Baloch people. He praised Baloch and Pashtoon people for their sacrifices for the country.

Shahbazsaid that the seat adjustment will prove that it is not a matter of winning and losing seats, but of saving Balochistan.

“By not taking part in elections, you will be giving way to your enemies who will hinder the restoration of peace,” he said.

Mengal also welcomed Shahbaz and said that his party will soon form a committee for seat adjustment.

Both the leaders discussed several political and social issues of Balochistan during the meeting.

  1. Mengal govt. was sacked by NZ during their previous govt. and he still has not learnt the lesson. PML N wants to come in govt. and try to get it through any means.
I wanted BNP to make adjustments with IK as there is better chance of situation improvement in Balouchistan with PTI in govt. PML N will do no different than what they did last time. However nothing is ever about winning or losing…it all about moral and values at the Sharif Palace.
