Gunmen kill MQM candidate in Hyderabad

Unidentified gunmen Thursday shot dead a ‘Mutahida Qaumi Movement’ or MQM Sindh assembly candidate in Hyderabad, police said.
The gunmen fired at Fakhr ul Islam during his election campaign, a police officer said.
The gunmen , riding a motorcycle, fled after the attack.
Fakhrul Islam had filed papers to contest elections from Hyderabad PS-47 of the Sindh Assembly.
Sources said that Islam had received any threats via phone or otherwise after his recent appointment as a provincial leader.
No group claimed responsibility.
Pakistani Taliban had earlier warned attacks on the MQM, PPP and ANP as they support the security forces against them.
The Taliban had asked the people to stay away from the election meetings of the MQM
