Prayers, sympathies for Imran Khan dominate social media

Social media was full of prayers and sympathies as Pakistani TV channels flashed the news of injuries to Imran Khan shortly after fell off from a lifter in Lahore.

 

TV footage showed Khan while bleeding at his forehead and his guards and supporters were carrying him to vehicle to take him to hospital.

 

Statements of sympathies started pouring in from across Pakistan as well as Pakistanis abroad. Cricket legends like Kapil Dev and Brain Laara also issued statements to show sympathies.

 

“InshAllah our great leader @imrankhanpti will recover completely – right now we are all IMRAN KHAN and we will make NayaPakistan InshAllah,” Imran Ghazali ?said on his Twitter.

 

Awab Alvi tweet: “How can you help @ImranKhanPTI lift his Political World Cup? Go door to door in your area for the next two days & ask people to vote for BAT”

 

IamKhan ?writes on her Twetter: “We will Rise Up For NayaPakistan. We pray for Imran Khan’s recovery so that he can help Pakistan recover.”

 

Jibran Ilyas: “My leader gave Pakistan 17 years of his life, now that he has been advised bed rest by doctors, and I will Vote4Bat , go PTI”

 

PTI leader Dr Arif Alvi said: “Mr Imran Khan spent a comfortable night. There is a fracture in the T7 (Thoracic-Upper Back) vertebra which is not displaced”

 

Khaista Khan writes of Facebook: First time I cry today for u imran Bhai and you are only in this stat because of us and for our interest. I think be to deserve u .. You are too good for us just like Allah ki naymat ho.. Allah ap ko Lambi zindagi day.”

Imran Khan’s incident prompted sympathy calls from almost all political leaders despite political rivalry. His arch rival, Nawaz Sharif cancelled his election rallies slated for Wednesday.

 

Shehbaz Sharif visited Khan at Shaukat Khanum Hospital and Maryam Nawaz prayed for her.

 

Jamaat-e-Islami chief, Munawar Hasan offered special prayers for Khan in his public meeting in Peshawar.
