Gunmen kill PTI’s MPA in Hangu

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s MPA from PK-42 Farid Khan Orakzai was gunned down by unknown assailants in Hangu on Monday.

He was immediately shifted to District Headquarters Hospital Hangu where he succumbed to his injuries.

He was elected as independent candidate and later joined the PTI.

Police said that gunmen sprayed bullets at the car of Orakzai in Singair village, which also injured his driver and bodyguard.

No group claimed responsibility for the attack.

Police said they are investigating motives behind the assassination.

Orakzai’s family said they do not have personal enmity with anyone in the area.President Asif Ali Zardari has strongly condemned the attack on MPA Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Farid Khan in Hangu.

He directed the concerned authorities to thoroughly investigate this unfortunate incident and to bring the assailants to justice.

President Asif Ali Zardari also expressed his heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved family and prayed to Almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and to grant courage to the family to bear this loss with fortitude.
