The parliamentary committee of Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) Monday formally nominated Shahbaz Sharif for the position of chief minister Punjab.

Addressing the PML-N meeting in Lahore, Shahbaz Sharif thanked the members for nominating him and giving him another chance to serve.

“I will learn from my mistakes and together we will make Punjab an example on our map,” he told the parliamentary party meeting.

The nomination comes ahead of the election for the speaker and deputy speaker Punjab assembly.

The PML-N has nominated the incumbent Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan for speaker while a young party member from south Punjab, Sardar Sher Ali Gorchani, has been nominated for deputy speaker.

The PML-N will easily win the election in view of absolute majority in the house.
