Pakistani Taliban Wednesday claimed responsibility for the bomb attack on Sindh High Court Justice Baqar Maqbool’s convoy in Karachi which killed eight security men and injured the judge.

The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) spokesman Ehsanullah Ehsan said that the Taliban also carried out attacks on the local peace council chief in Bannu and a police officer in Peshawar.

“We claim responsibility for the attack on the Sindh High Court judge as he had delivered verdicts against the Muslims and particularly the Mujahideen,” the TTP spokesman told the media via phone.

He said the judge was also part of the “secular system” and the attack was completely in line with the Taliban policy to target all those who are part of the system.

Ehsan also claimed responsibility for the attack on the head of the local peace committee Malik Hashim Khan in Bannu on Wednesday. Khan was killed along with his son and nephew in Zindi Falak Sher area of Bannu.

The TTP spokesman said the TTP also attacked and killed the Hayatabad SHO Mian Jan.

Jan was patrolling near Karkhano Market, Peshawar, when the gunmen opened fire on his car, killing him and injuring his gunman and driver.
