Central “Ruet-e-Hilal” Committee meets in Karachi Tuesday evening  to decide about the sighting or otherwise of Ramazan moon, officials said.

Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Chairman Mufti Munibur Rehman will chair the meeting.

Zonal Ruet-e-Hilal Committees will also meet at their respective headquarters for sighting the moon.

The government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa made failed attempts to convince the un-official moot sighting committee in Peshawar to join the official committee, however, he refused to abandon his plan.

Maulana Populzai has convened meeting of his people at his mosque to receive evidences about moon-sighting.

Some people follow Maulana Populzai and that is the main reason of division on fasting and Eid.

It is unfortunate that Populzai does not hold meeting of his people for sighting of moons of other months but he becomes active for Ramazan and Eid.

He usually makes announcements on the basis of just few witnesses. Majority in Pakistan, even in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, begin fasting with the Central “Ruet-e-Hilal” Committee’s decision.
