The Election Commission of Pakistan Tuesday asked the government to summon the parliament session on August 6 for the presidential elections.

The Commission also issued instructions to the parliamentarians to cast their votes in the presidential election.

A spokesman of the Election Commission said that the election will be held through secret ballot.

He instructed the Parliamentarian to correctly mark the name of the concerned candidate in the ballot paper.

The Parliamentarians have been asked to use a special pencil for the purpose and this will not be allowed to use any other writing method.

They also have to show their national identity cards at the time of polling.

Meanwhile the PML-N Tuesday approached the Supreme Court, seeking change in date of the presidential elections.

The PML argues that August 6 falls at the last days of the Holy Month of Ramazan and the people will be focusing on worships. The petition suggested the elections be held by July 31st.

The ECP has twice rejected the PML-N request. The PPP has also opposed change in the date.

PML-N sources say that the Prime Minister plans to visit Saudi Arabia for ‘Umra’ and that is why it has suggested change in the election date.
