Blast inside police station injures 7 people in Peshawar

A bomb blast inside a police station in Peshawar injured five policemen and two civilians Friday evening, police said.

The bomb was attached to a motorcycle and parked inside the police station in Hasht Nagri police station, police said.

Local media had earlier reported that three policemen were killed in the blast.

The blast caused fire in the building and fire tenders were called who extinguished the fire.

The blast also caused minor damage to the building and a car. The injured were shifted to Lady Reading Hospital.

Police did not say as to who had parked the motorcycle inside the police station.

It could be a security lapse as how the motorbike with a bomb reached in the high secure police station.

Some sources said that the police had confiscated the motorbike during a campaign in Peshawar.
