PM Nawaz Sharif visits Turkey’s low cost housing scheme

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif Wednesday visited a low cost housing project in Ankara during the third day of his visit to Turkey.

Briefing the Prime Minister on the project‚ Turkish Minister for Housing Erdogan Bayratar said his country is interested in investing in housing projects in Pakistan.

He said that under this project, Turkey’s slum areas had been developed into beautiful residential schemes.

He expressed the interest of Turkish government to invest in Pakistan’s housing sector.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said Pakistan could learn from the experience of Turkey, the way it constructed houses for lower and middle classes of society.

He invited Turkish businessmen to visit Pakistan and invest in the housing sector. 

He also mentioned his meeting with Turkish housing investors in Pakistan thrice and said this sector had the vast potential for investment for the growing population of 180 million.

Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has now arrived in Istanbul to address a business forum.

The Prime Minister will inform the forum of attractive investment opportunities in various sectors including energy in Pakistan.

Leading businessmen and investors of Turkey will attend the forum.
