PM establishes Balochistan Earthquake Relief Fund 2013

Prime Minister’s Balochistan Earthquake Relief Fund for the rehabilitation and relief of earthquake affectees of Balochistan has been established in all scheduled banks and people can make donations in this account.

 

Prime Minister’s Balochistan Earthquake Relief Fund 2013 has been established immediately through Finance Division notification.  Donations can be deposited in the State Bank Treasuries, all branches of National Bank and all branches of Scheduled Banks.

 

Pakistani Missions abroad can also receive donations. Cabinet Division in consultation with the Finance Division will administer this fund.

 

 

Prime Minister has appealed to the nation for donating generously to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund-2013 and stand by their Baloch brethren in their hour of adversity.

 

Prime Minister directs to prepare immediate Compensation and Rehabilitation Plan for Earthquake affectees

 

He has directed that a comprehensive Compensation and Rehabilitation Plan for the Balochistan Earthquake affectees be prepared and presented to him immediately upon his return from abroad.

 

On the directions of the Prime Minister, a special meeting Chaired by Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan was convened today at Islamabad, in which damage assessment of the earthquake affected areas was carried out.

 

The Prime Minister further directed that it must be ensured that every affected household be helped and at least one month food ration initially should be provided immediately to each household.

 

Army, Frontier Corp and Civil Administration should maintain equity pattern in distribution of aid and transportation. Moreover, the PM directed that the above measures be taken within 7 days time, starting from the day earthquake struck.

 

The Prime Minister appreciated the role of Army, FC and civil administration in relief activities, but at the same time said that more needs to be done.  He directed Federal Minister Abdul Qadir Baloch, Ministers of State Abdul Hakeem Baloch and Jam Kamal to remain in Awaran on rotation basis to personally supervise the relief activities.
