Thousands of Hindus celebrated Diwali in Pakistan

Several areas of Pakistan were lit up Sunday evening as Hindus celebrated their coveted religious Diwali festival. It is customary for Hindus to light up lanterns and use firecrackers during the festival of light and the same was seen across Pakistan.

Jacobabad was adorned like a bride by the resident Hindu community and areas in Hyderabad were also lit up in celebration of the festival. The Hindus also gathered in their temples in the Dadu district and conducted Pooja (prayers) for the betterment and security of the country.

Oil lamps and special prayers were also part of celebrations in Thar desert, which also has an active Hindu community.

According to reports, youngsters in Multan also took to the streets in celebration and used firecrackers and oil lamps to show their enthusiasm for the festival.
