It was reported that the authorities have decided to relax the curfew in Kohat, which was imposed two days ago, after the incidents which took place during the 10th of Moharram. There were armed clashes which took place between two groups and it was decided that the army should take over.

Amjad Ali, who is the deputy commissioner for the Kohat region, stated that other decisions regarding the curfew will be taken after the law and order situation in the city are taken under consideration.

He stated that even though the curfew has been relaxed, it does not mean that it has been absolutely lifted. That is why he mentioned how army personnel will be patrolling the city even during relaxation. The Kohat University and other private/public educational institutes have been opened after they were closed for two days straight. Shops are now functioning in a normal routine as well.
