Samsung set to spend 14,000 million in advertising

Samsung will invest this year on advertising $ 14,000 million (10,200 million euros), more than the gross domestic product of Iceland, as reported by Reuters.  TV station, newspapers , Google, Facebook and advertising agency all will be eyeing to grab part of this money.

The South Korean company, which has a market value of 227,000 million, has managed to be a world leader in smartphones and flat screen TVs, as well as being number two or three in other products, refrigerators washers.

No company in the world spends this big of percentage of their income on advertising. Samsung invests 5.4% of it’s revenues in advertising while in the case of its direct competitor in tablets and phones, Apple, only spends 0.6% of its revenues in advertising. The car manufacturer General Motors budgeted adverting as 3.5% of their income.

It’s no wonder Samsung has become the market leader in so many different categories and with spending this high in the coming year, percentage of market share can only increase.  From South Korea to world domination, not a bad road to follow.  It is headquartered in Samsung Town, Seoul and was founded by Lee Byung-chul.
