3G and 4G Auction to Take Place in April

It was recently reported from Islamabad that the chairman of the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority’s chairman, Ismail Shah, came out in the open to let it be known to the public that the auction for the well-anticipated 3G and 4G service is going to take place during the month of April.

The decision was taken after the Supreme Court was informed about it through the PTA Chairman. He explained how this is extremely necessary for the positive development of telecommunication sector in the country.

The case for the 3G and 4G licence was heard by Justice Jawad Khawaja along with a three-member bench. The whole case was heard on Thursday and a final decision was taken.

During the case it was inquired by Justice Jawad Khwaja whether the companies which are registered are going to take part in the auction. This is absolutely necessary for the legal procedures to be carried out after the auction takes place.

The PTA Chairman openly explained how the auction will start on 23^rd of April and it is expected to generate revenue of PKR 1.3 trillion.

The hearing of the case has been adjourned until 16^th of April and that is when the final decision is going to be taken.
