Prince Charles Comparison of Putin to Hitler Sparks Contravorcy

The Prince Charles has reportedly compared some of Hitler’s actions in Europe with Russian President Vladimir Putin, as claimed by an ex refugee of World War II who spoke to the heir to the British throne this week in Canada, according to the British newspaper Daily Mail. Russia has demanded a clarification of the remarks.

The prince Charles was on an official visit to Canada this week. He spoke to Marienne Ferguson, who fled her country Poland before the Nazi occupation. “He made the comment that now Putin is doing some of the same things that Hitler did,” said Ferguson, who spoke to the Prince of Wales on Monday during a visit to the Canadian Museum of Immigration in Halifax.

A spokesman for Clarence House, the official London residence of the heir to the throne, said it does not comment on private conversations of Prince. ” We do not comment on private conversations. But we want to point out that the Prince of Wales does not seek to make political statements during private conversations,” stated the spokesperson.

The ex refugee told Prince Charles that many of their families were unable to leave their country and died in concentration camps.” He asked me when I came to Canada. I told him that in 1939. Russia’s decision to annex the territory of Crimea has caused discomfort in many Western countries. Prince Charles plans to meet with Putin on 6 June in France on the occasion of the celebrations for the 70th anniversary of the Normandy landings.

The eldest son of Queen Elizabeth II has been a center of  controversy in the past for expressing his views about architecture or environment.
