It was recently reported from Karachi that British companies have shown interest in doing business in Pakistan.

The British Deputy High Commissioner, while addressing a meeting in Karachi, stated Pakistan can provide different avenues to the British businesses, who are now in pursuit to penetrate into newer markets. He admitted that there are certain security threats to different businesses operating in Pakistan, but claimed that British government is going to cooperate and offer support in order to restore peace.

He revealed that a UK-based company is going to undertake projects relating to desalination. This means that Pakistan will be receiving 100million gallons of potable water in a single day.

He also spoke about another project of power generation, which he believes is going to start in Karachi and will be making energy with the help of solid waste. He claims that this is not only going to provide suitable amount of energy; in fact, it will help Karachi get rid of its waste that is dumped throughout the day.

He further added that these projects are going to provide employment to at least 4000 workers. While talking about the trade between two countries, Tucknott said, “In order to achieve the challenging target £3 billion, we must make sure that bilateral trade between the two countries grows by 33 percent every year.”
