putin petro meet

The meeting of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Petro Poroshenko, elected president of Ukraine has not raised public reactions in Ukraine. The Kiev offensive continues, the pro-Russian Slaviansk have shot down a military plane, and the rebels have not given up the occupation of Ukrainian border posts on the edge with Russia. In Donetsk population seems more involved in the debate over whether the newly elected president will sign a martial law to the eastern regions after his inauguration Saturday. Statements had been dosing their environment so far pointed to the Executive was outlining the extent necessary to make the law, but since starting the round of international presentations of the new Ukrainian head of state – which began with Barack Obama in Poland – its discourse has softened, advocating a peaceful solution.

The lack of any offer of dialogue by the Ukrainian Government has been a constant conflict. Not only is she protesting the armed rebels of the East. Members of the opposition in Kiev and institutions that do not recognize the authority of the central government and are aligned with the rebels (although its neutrality is as relative as the Donetsk City Council, ruled by the Party of Regions Yanukovych) have criticized hard several times the lack of negotiating proposals. Kiev argues that not negotiate with ” terrorists.” Meanwhile, this feels politically isolated, even as the region ‘s representatives in the central government approved a few months ago.

The less belligerent population of Donetsk awaits for international deals Poroshenko materialize in an interruption of military actions in the East. At this juncture, the city has lost thousands, much of it spurred by the lack of freedom imposed by the self-proclaimed Republic of Donetsk General. Its headquarters is plastered posters decreeing the hunt for proucranios activists.
