Seven more victims of deadly terrorist attack on Karachi Jinnah International Airport have been recovered from the cold storage facility where they took refuge but failed to come out after the building caught fire and wall collapsed. Now the total death toll is increased to 29.

The bodies were recovered after about 28 hours of the terrorist attack by the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan militants. All seven were the employee of a cargo company.

The relatives of the trapped persons had blocked a road to stage protest for not rescuing their loved ones. The rescue activities required heavy machinery which was not available with the Civil Aviation Authorities or rescue teams.

Dead bodies are mutilated due to intense heat and are moved to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for identification. Once the bodies are identified using DNA testing, they will be handed over to the relatives for burial.

Relatives of the persons died in the cold storage told media that they received phone calls from their relatives from the cold storage. When they did not arrive home, they came to airport to look for them. Relatives claim that authorities did not listen to them and no rescue work was initiated for many hours.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Taliban had owned the responsibility of the attack. The spokesperson has said in a statement that attack is the revenge for killing of their leader Mehsud.
