7 civil judges fired for violating rules

Chief Justice of Lahore High Court has issued orders to remove seven civil judges from their position for violating the rules on Friday July 4, 2014. Justice Khawaja Imtiaz Ahmad said that the sacked judges had committed serious violations of the rules.

The decision to dismiss the seven civil judges was made during the meeting of the Executive Committee that reviewed public complaints from various districts of the Punjab province. The committee found the judges guilty of misconduct. Chief Justice took a swift action and decided to sack the civil judges.

The civil judges-cum-magistrates were terminated under the section 10 of the Punjab Civil Servants Act 1974 with immediate effect.

The civil judges who are dismissed including three female judges are:  Zalay Huma (Lahore), Bushra Frid (Chichawatni), Qamar Zaman Tarar (Sargodha), Saima Asif (Gujranwala), Nadeem Asghar Nadeem (Jalalpur Pirwala), Muzaffar Hussain (Chiniot) and Muhammad Amjad (Sialkot).
