The Moon Sighting Committees of Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates have announced sighting of the Shawal moon and Eid ul Fitr will be celebrated on Monday July 28, 2014 according to reports. Iraq and Jordan have also declared Monday as the day of Eid.
It is reported that Moon Sighting Committees of Saudi Arabia and UAE have received a number of witnesses of moon sighting and declared Monday July 28 as the first day of Shawal. Eid will be celebrated in these countries on Monday.
Iraq and Jordan also have announced sighting of the moon and declared that Eid will be celebrated on Monday.
In Peshawar Pakistan, the Qasim Ali Khan Mosque moon-sighting committee chaired by Mufti Shahab-ud-Din Popalzaiis also meeting to observe the Shawal moon. Qasim Ali Khan Mosque does not follow the Central Moon Sighting committee and has been declaring the start of lunar months on its own.
