Sayeeda Warsi, a senior British Foreign, submitted her resignation Tuesday to Prime Minister David Cameron, due to government policy regarding the Gaza offensive. ” Regretfully much I wrote this morning the Prime Minister and I have submitted my resignation. Most can not support its policy on Gaza,” wrote Tuesday on her Twitter account. The conservative policy calls for more action to achieve an ” immediate ceasefire ” to avoid ” the killing of innocent civilians.” Warsi, of Pakistani origin and mother of five children, is also minister of faith and communities. It is unclear whether the resignation also affects this portfolio. Currently the Ministry of Foreign has not ruled on the matter.

In recent days, the Sayeeda Warsi has called on the same social network more action by the international community to end the crisis in Gaza after the start of the Israeli offensive Margin Protector- operation on 8 July. ” The killing of innocent civilians must stop. Ceasefire is needed immediately  in Gaza. Leadership on both sides to stop this suffering is required,” the policy last July 21.

Three days later, Warsi – occupied portfolios Afghanistan Pakistan, Bangladesh, Human Rights and united Nations within the Foreign Ministry, according to Barbara Celis – added another message to ask people ” who no longer justify the killing of children “, adding: ” Whatever are our policies, there can never be a justification, but only regret.”

Lady Warsi, born in Dewsbury, in the county of West Yorkshire (northern England), worked as a lawyer before entering politics. Sayeeda became the first Muslim woman to sit in the Cabinet of Prime Minister Cameron when he came to power in 2010.

From there, then politics came to occupy the post of Secretary of State Affairs in 2012 while also starting to take over the ministry of faith and communities.
