Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has asked Dr. Tahirul Qadri and his institution Minhajul Quran International to pay Rs350 millions in taxes this Wednesday August 6, 2014. FBR discovered at least eight bank accounts used by Dr. Qadri and his institution.

FBR earlier sent three notices to Dr. Qadri and Minhajul Quran International to pay the income tax under the Income Tax Ordinance. However, Dr. Qadri decided not to respond to the notices.

FBR has said in the notice that failure to comply with the notice may lead to freezing of the bank accounts and deducting tax amounts from the bank accounts.

FBR claimed that Dr. Qadri’s party and institution have at least eight bank accounts holding Rs770 millions transferred through various sources.
