Militants killed in Pakistan by US rockets

There are reports of killing of five militants in the North Waziristan after unmanned plane fired rockets on one vehicle and a compound on Wednesday August 6, 2014. Intelligence sources claim most of the dead militants were foreigners though their identities are not known yet.

United States drone fired missile on a house and a motor vehicle in the Dattakhel area of North Waziristan leaving five suspected militants dead and two injured. The recent drone strike is the fourth during the past few months after a break of about six months.

Pakistan army is conducting a military operation against the militants of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Taliban and other militant groups in the North Waziristan tribal region after the peace talks failed.

Pakistan condemns the firing of missiles by US drones in the Pakistani territory as it violates the national sovereignty.

The United Kingdom-based Bureau of Investigative Journalism has recently reported that 700 people were identified out of 2,342 who lost their lives during the CIA-operated drones in Pakistan and nearly half of them are stated to be civilians including 99 children.
