Pakistani PM to take nation into confidence on political situation

Special Assistant to the Pakistani Prime Minister Irfan Siddiqui has said in a statement on Monday that Nawaz Sharif will address the nation on Tuesday August 12, 2014 regarding the current political and security situation in the country.

Prime Minister will speak to the nation on Tuesday at 8:00PM in a televised address. It is expected that he will speak about his government’s performance and the situation arising from the long marches on August 14 by opposition parties.

Nawaz Sharif has indicated his willingness to negotiate with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Imran Khan to abandon long march without any success. Imran Khan has told his supporters that he has burned all his boats and will not return from Islamabad without achieving his ‘goals’ of removing Nawaz Sharif from power.

Pakistan Awami Tehreek leader, Dr. Tahirul Qadri, has also announced ‘inqilab march’ on August 14 to topple the government and replace it with ‘new system’.

Nawaz Sharif will use the media channel to brief the Pakistanis about his stand on the security and political issues.
