Imran Khan and Dr. Tahirul Qadri are running a race to win the title of leader of change in Pakistani politics. Both the leaders announced the long marches towards Islamabad with different motives but with one target of removing Nawaz Sharif from the government.
Dr. Qadri gave 48 hours ultimatum to the incumbent government to resign. Imran Khan followed the same line of action and announced 48 hours deadline for Nawaz Sharif to step down as prime minister.
Imran Khan has now told his supporters to march towards the high security zone of Islamabad behind him on Tuesday August 19, 2014 at 6:00PM after the expiry of the 48 hours ultimatum.
Dr. Tahirul Qadri told his supporters to hold people’s parliament on Tuesday August 19, 2014 at 5:00PM to decide what to do next.
Both the leaders have said that after the deadlines, their workers will not be in their controls and will be free to do whatever they wanted to do with Nawaz Sharif.
Dr. Qadri and Imran Khan both have appealed to the people of Pakistan to come out of their houses on Tuesday to join them to bring the change in Pakistan.
Apparently it is the race to demonstrate who is the better leader to bring the change in the country ‘unconstitutionally’. Both are demanding sacrifices from their supporters to change the system.
Leaders who cannot join hands to change the system collectively within the framework of Constitution of Pakistan are making bold claims of making Pakistan the greatest nation in the world. But how? No one knows.
