Heavy rains killed 7 persons in Peshawer

Heavy torrential rains in Peshawer and surrounding areas resulting in deaths of 7 people and wounding over 40 people on Friday August 22, 2014. Chief Minister Pervez Khattak announced compensation of Rs 3 lakhs for the families of the dead persons.
Torrential rain and strong winds toppled numerous trees from roots and disrupted the communication system.
The roofs of a number of houses collapsed in different areas and 7 people were killed and more than 40 people were injured including four members of a family.
Provincial Health Minister Shahram Tarkai declared state of emergency in all hospitals, and directed the medical staff to provide the best medical care to the victims.
The Chief Minister Pervez Khattak lamented the loss of human lives and announced payment of Rs 3 lakhs to families of those killed.
