Political issues should be resolved quickly without violent force – ISPR

Corps Commander Conference was held in Rawalpindi on August 31, 2014 at General Head Quarters. General Raheel Sharif, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) presided over the conference.

Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement, “While reaffirming support to democracy, the conference reviewed with serious concern, the existing political crisis and the violent turn it has taken resulting in large scale injuries and loss of lives.”

“Further use of force will only aggravate the problem. It was once again reiterated that the situation should be resolved politically without wasting any time and without resource to violent means”, the ISPR statement added.

At least four people have been killed and hundreds injured as a resuslt of violent clashes between anti government protesters and police in Islamabad when protesters tried to stage rally in front of Prime Minister House.
