Speaking at a Rally outside the National Press Club, Maulana Muhammad Ahmad Ludhianvi, chief of the Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat declared that parliament’s resolution on Yemen was against the people’s will and a waste of time.
He further stated that, “We have to give unconditional support to Saudi Arabia to save the honour of Ummul Momineen Hazrat Ayesha Siddiqa. We will not allow anyone to disrespect the Haramain Sharifain”.
Several rallies in support of the Saudis have been conducted by religious parties in the country and the ASWJ chief stated that more such demonstrations would be organized in all major cities of Pakistan.
“If our government does not take the decision, we will go to Saudi Arabia, just like Ameer Ansar Ul Ummah Fazal-ur-Rehman Khalil went to Afghanistan,” said the ASWJ chief, adding that the Shia-Sunni conflict is being used by some elements to distract Pakistan from the main issue.
Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman Khalil also spoke in an address to the rally and reiterated that Pakistan should support Saudia Arabia, just like the latter supported Pakistan.
Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Leader Maulana Abdul Rauf Farooqi also spoke and stated that the final decision to send troops to Saudia Arabia lies with the army, whom he urged to act without further delay.
