Trudeau To Modi: I Have More Sikhs In My Cabinet

Speaking to an audience in Washington, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said that there are more Sikhs in his Cabinet than in Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s.

He said this as a response to a question asked by a Pakistani student at the American University In Washington during his state visit in the U.S.

The student expressed his appreciation of the fact that Punjabi’s are well represented in Trudeau’s cabinet.

Trudeau welcoming the question with a hearty smile responded “I have more Sikhs in my cabinet than Modi does.

There are two Sikh Minister’s in Modi’s cabinet namely Maneka Gandhi and Harsimrat Kaur Badal.

On the other hand, Sikh-Canadian’s in Trudeau’s Cabinet include Canadian Defence Minister Harjit Saijan, Infrastructure Minister Amarjeet Sohi, Innovation Minister Navdeep Singh Bains and Small Business Minister Bardish Chagger.

 

Trudeau was sworn into office as the 23rd Prime Minister of Canada, as the leader of the Liberal party after a record landslide victory. His cabinet include 4 Sikh-Canadians and also an equal number of men and women.
