Imran Khan determined to expose Sharif’s offshore company; forms team to probe issue

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has formed a team which will investigate the allegations made in the Panama Leaks about Nawaz Sharif’s offshore holdings. It seems like Khan will not let go of this issue easily as during his recent trip to London, he is undertaking efforts to uncover the facts behind these allegations.

According to the details provided, Khan has asked his party’s media head, Faisal Vawda to extend his tenure in London so that he can investigate this issue. Vawda will be working with PTI’s London President, Barrister Waheed-ur-Rehman Mian to ensure that the Panama Papers issue is properly investigated in London.

Khan spoke to journalists on Sunday, and informed them that Vawda and Weed-ur-Rehman will be contacting the relevant organizations in the UK against those people ‘who have taken the wealth of Pakistan outside the country.’ He further added that the team will be gathering evidence and will also interview those people who can provide further leads. He said that the investigation will cover all those Pakistanis who have taken their wealth outside the country, and not just Sharif and his family. He also added that Panama Leaks is a global issue and the suggestion that it was a conspiracy against any single individual or government is a foolish thing to say.

Meanwhile Faisal Vawda and Barrister Waheed-ur-Rehman said that they have received instructions from their party’s chief and that they have already made appointments with lawyers in London who will dig out information about the secret accounts and companies.
