Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) celebrated its 20th foundation day on April 24, 2016 in F-9 Park, Islamabad. The day was marked with celebrations and vows to make Pakistan and better place for future generations.

PTI Chairman Imran Khan addressed the masses during the ceremony and said that his party and the entire nation will hold Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif accountable for his actions. He vowed to launch a nationwide movement against corruptions from Sindh starting from April 26, 2016.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is currently facing a scandal involving his children’s assets worth billions, in offshore companies, as cited in Panama Papers. Khan has asked the Prime Minister to come clean and tell the nation what the source of these assets is.

Khan has asked the government to form an independent commission to probe the Panama Leaks. In case that does not happen, Khan threatened to start street protests in the entire country.

“The nation will hold you accountable … they will take to the streets, if service of an international forensic company are not hired and terms of reference (ToRs) for the independent commission are not made in consultation with the opposition,” Imran Khan asserted.

Other than launching an anti-corruption drive in Sindh, the PTI Chairman also announced to hold a rally at Chairing Cross in Lahore on next Sunday, in order to put more pressure on the government for an independent probe.

So far the government has not commented on Khan’s decision to hold these rallies in different cities of Pakistan.
