Lahore police officer arrested for raping minor girl

A Lahore based police officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Imran Babar Jamil has been arrested by authorities for allegedly raping a girl. The incident was reported in the city’s Kahna area and a First-Information Report (FIR) was filed against the DSP in the police station of the same area.

According to account of the victim’s mother, DSP Jamil came to their house late at night and took her husband and daughter with him. She said that her husband was able to free himself and he got away but could not free their daughter. She added that the DSP said on phone that he will not return their daughter and then he turned his phone off.

After a few hours, the girl was left outside her house in an injured condition. The victim was sent to the hospital after that for medical examination and the results from the report are still awaited.

Meanwhile, DSP Jamil maintains that he is innocent and that he has been framed by these people. He said that the incident came about at a time when he allegedly investigated illegal activities at a hotel in plain clothes.

He further added that he helped the girl and her father by taking them to the hospital. He said that when he went back to drop them, the girl complained of pain and he took her back to the hospital. When he came to drop her, he said that there was hue and cry at her place and everyone was saying that she had been missing for a day.

DSP Jamil has been suspended till the time the investigations are underway and the police sources assured that the results will be made public.
