In a shocking twist, a man claiming to be Internet sensation Qandeel Baloch’s husband came live on television on Wednesday.

The incident was quickly followed by Qandeel confessing that she was truly married and had a child from her marriage to the man.

Baloch stated, “My husband used to beat me up.”

Her confession followed the revelation of her marriage by former husband, Aashiq Hussain.

On the matter of having a son, she added, “He never told my child I am his mother. It was a forced marriage.”

Talking to Express News, Aashiq debunked Baloch’s assertions and argued that it was a love marriage.

“I still have letters which she wrote with her blood,” he said.

“I never contacted Aashiq Hussain after the divorce,” she mentioned.

In the past month, Qandeel Baloch was summoned by Senior Civil Judge Khursheed Ahmad to court for a hearing on a petition filed by a lawyer.

The petitioner, advocate Shahbaz Ali Khan Gurmani maintained that Qandeel Baloch had stained the Baloch race by adopting the surname.  He claimed that she lacked any ties to the Baloch race.

In a separate action, Gadai union council vice chairman Fayyaz Khan Leghari of Dera Ghazi Khan sent a legal notice on Monday to Qandeel Baloch, demanding that she apologize for ‘bringing shame’ to the Baloch race, to refrain from using Baloch as her surname and pay him Rs50 million.

“Otherwise, strict action will be taken against you.”

The notice revealed that Qandeel Baloch’s legal name was Fauzia Azeem. It further stated that she has a certain ‘agenda’ and is not of Baloch ethnicity. According to the notice, she comes from the Marha Shaikh family and is not a Baloch tribe. Leghari has made it plain that he desires a formal apology from the model within seven days. Additionally, he has requested that the federal Shariah court, the Islamic Ideological Council, and the federal government delve into the issue.

Qandeel Baloch grew in fame due to her relentless self-promotion and suggestive “selfies” on social media, gaining tens of thousands of followers.

On Valentine’s Day, Baloch had on a plunging scarlet dress and posted a message in defiance of the country’s president, who had given a serious warning against the “Western” holiday.

In a Facebook video, she advocated by saying “They can stop people from going out, but they can’t stop people from loving”, adding that politicians are “idiotic and disgusting”.

The Facebook video message appeared to highlight the frustrations of young people tired of being told how to act. The post has been viewed more than 830,000 times and received 7,000 likes and counting.
