Bollywood actor Salman Khan has gotten off the hook yet again in a court case which could have landed him in jail for a maximum of five years. The superstar was charged with killing two endangered species, namely; blackbuck and chinkara-both are from the gazelle family.

According to the details provided, Khan was accused of killing the endangered species along with seven other people. He had appealed to the High Court challenging the lower court’s verdict of giving him one and five years’ long imprisonment in the two separate cases of poaching.

The details of the case state that the incidents of poaching took place in 1998 on two separate occasions. One of the animals was killed at Bhawad on the outskirts of Jodhpur on September 26, 1998, while the other one was killed at Ghoda Farms on September 28, 1998. Both these times, Khan was in the vicinity shooting for his film, Hum Sath Sath Hain.

This is not the first time that the Bollywood superstar has landed himself in trouble. In May 2015, Khan was charged for culpable homicide by the Mumbai High Court for crashing his SUV into a group of homeless men in Mumbai in 2002 and then fleeing the scene. He was handed a five-year sentence for the crime but later he was acquitted in that case as well.

Most recently, Khan made some indecent rape comment during the promotion of his film Sultan, which did not sit well with the National Commission for Women (NCW). He was asked to apologize for the comments, but so far Khan has not conceded.
