A number of changes are expected to take place in the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) cabinet and Sindh and one of those changes has already taken place in the shape of a new Chief Minister (CM) Sindh.

The PPP has named Murad Ali Shah as the new CM of Sindh after the party’s decision during a meeting of its top leaders in Dubai on Sunday. During the meeting, one of the key decisions taken was that to replace the current CM Qaim Ali Shah with Murad Ali Shah.

After the decision was announced, a press conference was held by the Advisor to CM for Information, Moula Bux Chandio, in which he confirmed the nomination of Murad Ali Shah and also said that a ‘change’ has come in the province.

A Sindh Assembly session will take place on Friday in which Shah is expected to be elected as the new CM. His oath taking ceremony is also expected to take place on the same day.

Meanwhile Qaim Ali Shah handed in his resignation today as the CM of Sindh. Chandio further elaborated that talks were going on to replace Qaim Ali Shah for quite some time in the party.

“There was a need for more energetic and courageous leader to prepare for the next elections,” he said, adding that the names of Murad Ali Shah’s team would also be revealed in a few days.

The chairman of PPP, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari thanked Qaim Ali Shah for his services and hoped that the new CM will bring in positive changes in the province.
