After the Uri attack in Indian-occupied Kashmir, an Indian journalist took a rather distasteful approach to respond to the situation by calling out Pakistani actor Fawad Khan and others who are working in India, to leave his country and never return.

Soumyadipta Banerjee took to Twitter on Tuesday and called out to the Bollywood industry to boycott all Pakistani actors to stand united with the soldiers of their country. “Ban Pakistani artists the same way they have banned you. This is not the time to promote culture,” he said, while calling for Bollywood to unite against Pakistan.

However, things did not end there as Banerjee then wrote an open letter to the Kapoor and Sons actor asking him to ‘go back to Pakistan’. Despite being addressed to Fawad Khan, Banerjee mentioned that it is also directed towards all Pakistanis working on Indian soil including Adnan Sami, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Mahira Khan.

The letter, titled ‘Dear Fawad Khan. It’s time. Go back to Pakistan’, basically ridiculed the actor and attempted to portray that how generous India has been to Khan.

“Fawad, I don’t think you can deny how much love we have showered on you over the past few years. We have given you more money in two years than what you could have possibly earned in Pakistan in 10 years. We have given you recognition that you would have never been able to earn sitting in Karachi. We made you act in great movies, we helped you endorse brands. And hey, we also made you a bigger star in Pakistan,” the letter read pointing towards India’s benevolence.

The remaining letter was also along the same lines-humiliating Pakistani actors and asking them to go back.

The letter by Banerjee drew mixed responses from the public but so far, no official response has been gathered from Fawad Khan himself.
