According to the latest intelligence reports, it has been learnt that India’s intelligence agency, Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) has been tasked by the Modi government to carry out covert strikes against Pakistan. The decision comes after the Modi government was advised not to carry out any surgical strikes against Pakistan which could end up in a war situation.

It has also been learnt that the targets selected for the covert operations include ISI and MI offices in addition to some targets in the region of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. The assassination of Hafiz Saeed and Masood Azhar will also be speeded up.

“RAW has been tasked to plan and execute a covert strike which should speak by itself being an Indian response to Uri,” a source privy to the situation said.

The source also added that initially Indian Army had been given the directives to prepare for a surgical strike inside AJK on terror camps. Although the Army agreed to carry out the strikes and assured the successful targeting of these camps, it did not guarantee the safe exit of its strikers. The Army also warned of a possible guerilla war by Pakistan Army and further exploitation by Pakistan in the international arena.

A major conflict with Pakistan may also end up in a major Muslim uprising in Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, UP, Maharashtra and Haryana.

Due to these reasons, the Modi government has decided to carry out covert mission against Pakistan rather than going all out and facing dire consequences.
