A German doctor of Pakistani-origin, Dr. Uzma, was killed by her own husband in the name of ‘honour’ in Jhelum and now a witness has testified against the accused. In this case, the witness happens to be the suspect’s own 14-year-old son, who was present at the crime scene.

According to the details of the incident provided, the suspect, identified as Shahbaz Ali, killed his own wife in the presence of his son Ammar. Initially Ammar had said that he had asked his father to teach him how to fire a pistol and that while he was being taught, a bullet accidentally got fired and killed his mother.

However, two days after the incident, Ammar told the police that his father had intentionally killed his mother for the sake of honour. According to Ammar’s account, his father first fired a shot in the air and then aimed the gun at his mother and killed her.

Shahbaz was planning to flee the country after the incident and had even bought a ticket for his escape plan. However, immediately after the incident was reported, Dr. Uzma’s sister, Qamarunnissa, told the police that her brother-in-law had killed her sister and that they should arrest him.

Based on the complaint, the police arrested Shahbaz Ali, his son Ammar and another accomplice who was a friend of the accused.

After Ammar’s testimony, Shahbaz will be charged with murder.

Dr. Uzma and her family were visiting Pakistan from Germany to meet their families. Shahbaz had gone to meet his family in Jhelum whereas Dr. Uzma was visiting her parents in Kharian along with her two children.

On Wednesday, Shahbaz brought Dr. Uzma to Kharian and killed her there. Initially he tried to make the murder look like an accident but the truth came out eventually.

Dr. Uzma was laid to rest in her hometown in Kharian on Thursday.
