People of Karachi take law in their hands by burning a robber alive

A young suspected robber was killed by a mob in the outskirts of Karachi on Sunday.

According to the details of the incident provided, two suspected robbers tried to steal from a milk shop located in the Landhi neighborhood, which is situated in the outskirts of Karachi.

The robbers, who were in the 20s, came on a motorbike and tried to steal from the owner of a milk shop. The owner of the shop resisted, upon which the robbers opened fire on him. Thankfully, the owner of the shop remained unharmed.

Hearing the shots, people from accompanying shops immediately came to the shop keeper’s rescue.

A mob formed and some of the people were able to catch one of the robbers. They began to beat him and after torturing him, they set him on fire. The suspected robber burnt to death before the police arrived at the scene.

The second suspected robber managed to flee from the scene.

Initially, the body of the burnt robber was sent to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center for medic0-legal formalities. After that, the body was sent to Edhi morgue for identification purposes.

The Zone East police chief DIG Arif Hanif said that a case will be registered against the mob for taking the law into their own hands, instead of letting the police do their work. However, so far, no arrests have been made.

The identity of the burnt robber has also not been established till now and none of his family members have come forward to claim his body.
