Waqar Zaka beaten publically; thrashing video goes viral

Social media personality and host of a reality show, Waqar Zaka, was publically thrashed by an angry man while a group of by-standers just watched the beating. Zaka, who is not liked by many people for doing things which are considered an invasion of privacy by many, lashed out against his attackers later.

The incident took place on Friday in Karachi, as Zaka was having dinner with friends at a popular café in the city. While talking to reporters, Zaka said that while he was having dinner, a group of young men and women started filming him.

“I told them that I would also make their video and if they are making it and how they feel if it gets spread on social media,” he said.

Later, Zaka claimed, he was asked to come outside the café where he was beaten up by a guy named Junaid surrounded by around 12 gunmen.

While he was getting beaten up, Zaka could be heard asking his attacker what he had done to spite him. A group of people, including a gun-wielding man, just watched the episode from a distance and did nothing to stop it.

After the incident, a few people came forward and claimed that the incident was part of a bet and they wanted to replicate what Zaka does in his shows.

The reality show host said that he will file a case against his attackers and will make sure that justice is served.

“I have filed the FIR and will wait here till Junaid Haider is arrested,” he said.

“I had plans to go to Syria but now I will fight here so that the culture of such violence ends. One thing is certain: He and I are going to spend this night in the lock up,” he added.
