Crackdown against terrorists continues as officials arrest 250 suspects in nationwide raids

Ever since the latest spate of suicide bombing started in the country, crackdown against suspected militants has continued and so far 250 suspects have been arrested. On Monday, the raids against terrorists continued and it is expected that the number of arrests will go up.

According to the latest reports, Rangers officials were able to avert a terror attack in Karachi, killing seven suspected terrorists from a banned outfit, during a search operation at Shah Latif colony. Weapons were also recovered from these terrorists.

Another raid in Karachi’s New Karachi area, resulted in the arrest of three people including a policeman during a raid at a house where a large cache of weapons were recovered.

In Quetta, police arrested 35 Afghan Nationals and registered a case against them in various police stations in the city. These Afghan nationals were arrested in accordance with the Foreign Act, according to which foreign nationals can be arrested in Pakistan if they are found to be involved in terror activities.

Similarly, in Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin and Dera Ghazi Khan, similar raids were conducted and security forces arrested 16 suspects and 146 Afghan nationals. Drugs and weapons were also recovered from these suspects.

In Rawalpindi and Islamabad, a high alert situation is also underway and the officials raided different hotels and guesthouses in the twin cities. As a result, 87 people were arrested for having incomplete documents.

Crackdown against the militants gained steam when terrorists carried out suicide attacks in all four provinces of the country, as a result of which hundreds of people were killed.
