Even though the PSL management and franchise owners have given their go-ahead for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) final to be held in Lahore, the final call will not be made till the time the Chief Minister Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif gives his blessings.

On Tuesday, the CM presided over a cabinet committee meeting on security and safety during PSL final, but the participants of the meeting failed to reach a decision. The meeting is scheduled to be held again today and it is expected that the decision regarding holding the PSL final in Lahore will be made today.

According to the details provided of the meeting, the participants took a detailed review whether PSL final should be held in the city and decided that if it were to, then ‘head-of-the-state-level’ security will be provided to the teams.

One of the participants also suggested that on the day of the match, no car should be allowed in the vicinity of Nishtar Park Sports Complex, in whose outskirts lays Gaddafi Cricket Stadium.
“Pakistan is going through delicate times,” said the CM. “To ruin the mala fide intentions of the enemy, we need a united stance of the people more than ever before.”

Shahbaz Sharif further said that the staff appointed for integrated command, control and integration will be sent abroad for training, so that they are able to deal with any sort of situation.
Towards the end of the meeting, all the participants prayed for the martyrs of the recent suicide bombings which took place in different parts of Pakistan and vowed to avenge their blood.
